Privacy Policy
Seneca Polytechnic (Seneca) developed and provides the Seneca Mobile App (App) to students at no cost and is intended for use as is.
The App provides links to Student News, easy access to information about the Shuttle Bus, important Academic Dates, CafeQ and more. The App seamlessly connects students to their Student Portal, Seneca Navigate, and the Student Travel Plan form, which can be used by international students to arrange for airport pickup
The following provides users with information about our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information when using the App. By choosing to use the App, you are agreeing to the collection, use and disclosure of information in relation to this Privacy Policy (Policy).
The Personal Information that we collect is used for providing and improving the App and associated services. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Policy.
Collection, Use and Disclosure of Information
To enable some of the App's functionality, you will be asked to allow access to precise or approximate device location information that is required for some of the features (e.g., Seneca Navigate). This information is not retained by Seneca, and no user behaviour is tracked or stored.
The App collects Device ID and Token ID for the purposes of enabling the delivery of notifications to the device. You have the option to choose to "Allow" or "Don't Allow" the App to permit receipt of notifications.
If a student completes the Student Travel Plan Form, the App allows for the collection of personal and travel related information in order to identify when the student is arriving in Toronto (and from where), and to schedule and provide complimentary airport pick up service. This information is not stored in the App and only authorized employees will have access to the information provided. Limited traveler and flight information is provided to a third party taxi service to facilitate the pickup.
Similar to other Apps, accessing weblinks contained in the App enables your device's internet browser, but it is important to note that any information entered by you once the browser has launched is not captured in the App.
Service Providers
We may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:
To facilitate services provided for in the App;
To provide the App on our behalf;
To perform App-related services; or
To assist us in analyzing how the App is used.
We want to inform users of the App that these third parties have limited access to device location usage data in order to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf. However, they are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.

Log Data
We want to inform you that whenever you use the App, or in the case of an error in the App, we may collect data and information from your phone called Log Data. This Log Data includes information such as your device name and operating system.
Security
We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Children's Privacy
The App and associated services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will immediately delete the information from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to take the necessary actions.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
